Today was the big day for Nic and his team: they organized their side event about the campaign “Sing for the Climate”. At 10:30 this morning, everyone was nervously hoping to see a lot of people show up for this event. Luckily, yet with a little delay, a big and enthusiastic crowd showed up. We even had a couple of Belgian and French ministers sitting in the room. Our minister from energy, environment and mobility, Melchior Wathelet, sang along with us and gave a praising speech about this campaign. Evelyne Huyttebroek, minister of the Brussels capital region, responsible for environment, energy, water (and many more), was also at the event and she too was very positive!
Nic explained what Sing for the Climate is, how it started, how it works and how it is organized. He then showed a couple of videos from the previous editions, and of course the recently released music clip from the last edition “Do it now”. He then invited the public to sing along, and they did a great job! A lot of people from other countries such as DR Congo, Algeria, Germany and many more, were extremely enthusiastic about this project. I now cannot wait to see Sing for the Climate appear in different countries and, who knows, in different languages!
Here’s some pictures of the event:
Some of our ministers were present:
And there was some media attention…
And more media attention…
The crowd was applauding;
And even dancing for the climate!!
I think the event was a great success and we had a fun time!
